What drives Sensex?

Recent times you would have noticed in newspapers, TV that sensex is scaling new highs…. So whats the reason behind it…

It is mainly becoz of Foreign institutional investors ( FII’s), they are nothing but Mutual Funds, Banks, Charitable Trusts..etc, established outside India and make investment in Indian stock market.

FII’s believe that they can make more money by investing in Indian stock market. India is the fifth largest economy in the world (ranking above France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Russia) and an emerging economic super power.

So how much they invested?

Net FII inflows in calendar year (CY) 2005 have crossed the 9 billion dollar mark ie nearly Rs 40,000 crore. This is the first time FIIs have pumped in such a huge amount in a single CY.

But if our government fails to improve Infrastructure, then this money is not ours, any time they can pull back and invest in other prospective countries.

Hope one day, India would emerge as the largest Economy in the world. That day "our big brother will be our small brother"
